RUSSIAN CONSTRUCTIVISM TILESET
I designed this tileset through Mapbox Studio Classic using CartoCSS. I tried to emulate the style elements of Russian Constructivism when designing features in the map, like buildings, roads, and water.
I have always thought that the Russian propaganda posters were bold and somewhat beautiful
in their own right. I started by examining some iconic pieces of the movement such as "Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge."
Many pieces in the constructivist style had a fairly limited color pallette with lots of solid, blocky shapes, simple textures, and few outlines.
Mapbox has since retired tilesets created with Studio Classic, but check out the screenshots below!
